Shooting Functions > Flash Correcting the red-eye effect If the flash fires when you capture a photo of a person in the dark, a red glow may appear in the eyes. To correct the red-eye effect, select Auto Red-eye or Fill-in Red. Using the built-in flash To open the built-in flash, press the flash pop-up button. The flash does not fire when the built-in flash is closed, but automatically pops up and fires when you select Smart Flash, Auto, or Auto Red-eye. Without red-eye correction With red-eye correction If the subject is too far from the camera or moves when the first flash fires, red-eyes may not be reduced. 79

Correcting the red-eye effect
If the flash fires when you capture a photo of a person in the dark,
a red glow may appear in the eyes. To correct the red-eye effect, select
Auto Red-eye
or
Fill-in Red
.
Without red-eye correction
With red-eye correction
If the subject is too far from the camera or moves when the first flash fires,
red-eyes may not be reduced.
Using the built-in flash
To open the built-in flash, press the flash pop-up button. The flash does
