Section 4: Push-to-Talk (PTT) Functions If you depend on instant communication, choose Verizon Wireless Push-to-Talk (PTT). Whether at home, in the office or across the country, you can quickly connect with one or multiple users at the same time with just a push of a button. Plus, you can make regular voice calls on the Verizon Wireless network. For Alert calls, press the PTT/Side Key send an alert to the recipient to notify them about a call. The recipient can choose to respond and begin the conversation, then you alternate pressing and holding the PTT/Side Key while speaking, and releasing the key to listen. Alternatively, you can place a Barge call by pressing the PTT/Side Key to hear a tone, then pressing and holding the key while speaking. In this case, your voice will be broadcast instantly over the recipient's speaker. 26 Enabling PTT Mode on Your Phone You must contact Verizon Wireless to activate Push-to-Talk service on your account. Once Push-to-Talk service has been activated, please follow these steps to enable Push-to-Talk on your phone. 1. From the Home screen, select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ PTT Settings ➔ PTT Mode. 2. Select On to enable PTT Mode, or Off to disable. Making PTT Calls Your phone offers multiple ways to make PTT calls: • Enter a PTT number on the Keypad. If you depend on instant communication, choose Verizon Wireless

the same time with just a push of a button. Plus, you can make

For Alert calls, press the
PTT/Side Key

Enabling PTT Mode on Your Phone
You must contact Verizon Wireless to activate Push-to-Talk
service on your account. Once Push-to-Talk service has been
activated, please follow these steps to enable Push-to-Talk on
your phone.
