Battery, Power Saving Mode, Storage, Security, Mounting the SD Card

Battery View what is using battery power. 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps g Settings g General tab. 2. Tap Battery to view battery usage for apps and services. 3. Tap an item for more information, or to configure options for managing power use. Power Saving Mode Configure Power saving mode to conserve battery power. 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps g 2. Tap ON/OFF to enable the feature. 3. Configure the available options: Settings g General tab g Power saving mode. ● CPU performance: Limit the maximum performance of the CPU (Central Processing Unit). This does not affect normal usage, such as browsing and video playback. ● Screen output: Use low power level for the screen. Note: Tap Learn about power saving mode for more information. Storage Manage the use of memory resources in your tablet's memory and on an optional memory card (not included). 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps g Settings g General tab. 2. Tap Storage to view information about memory usage and options: ● Device memory: View memory usage for the different types of information stored on your tablet's memory. Touch an item for more information. ● SD card: View total space and available space on an optional memory card (not included). Viewing Memory Allocation 1. From a Home screen, tap Apps g Settings g General tab g Storage. The available memory displays under the Total space and SD card headings. Important! DO NOT remove a microSD card while the device is accessing or transferring files. Doing so will result in loss or damage of data. Make sure your battery is fully charged before using the microSD card. Your data may become damaged or lost if the battery runs out while you are using the microSD card. Mounting the SD Card To store photos, music, videos, and other applications. You must mount (install) the SD card prior to use. Mounting the SD card establishes a USB connection with your computer. 1. From a Home screen, tap 2. Tap Mount SD card. Unmounting the SD card Apps g Settings g General tab g Storage. Erasing Files from the SD card To erase files from the SD card using the device: 1. Ensure the SD card is mounted. 2. From the main Settings page, tap General tab g Storage g Mount SD card. 3. Tap Format SD card g Format SD card g Delete all to format the SD card. The SD card formats and erases all the data stored on it. Formatting the SD card Use the Format SD card setting to remove all data from an installed memory card. Important! Data cannot be recovered after formatting. 1. Ensure the SD card is mounted. 2. From a Home screen, tap Apps g Settings g General tab g Storage. 3. Tap Format SD card, then follow the prompts to delete all data from the card. Security Configure options for securing information on your tablet. Encryption You can encrypt accounts, settings, downloaded apps and their data, media, and other files. After encryption, you must enter the PIN or password you set each time you turn on your tablet. You can also encrypt information stored on an optional installed memory card (not included). Encryption may take an hour or more to complete. Start with a charged battery, and keep the tablet on the charger until encryption is complete.
