Special Settings Subtitle Language Audio Language Camera Angle DVD DVD-V DVD-V VR mode This unit allows you to select a subtitle language (if available) during DVD play- back. 1 PLAY 1.ENG/6 SUBTITLE T-SET Each time you press the SUBTITLE/TSET button, subtitle languages change. For example ENG (English subtitles) FRE (French subtitles) DVD-V DVD DVD-V VR mode This unit allows you to select an audio language (if multiple languages are available) during DVD playback. 1 PLAY 1.ENG 3/2.1ch 48k/3 AUDIO Each time you press the AUDIO button; For example ENG (English audio) SPA (Spanish audio) DVD DVD-V Some DVD discs may contain scenes which have been shot simultaneously from various angles. You can change the camera angle if the ( ) icon appears on the screen. If the "ANGLE ICON" setting is "OFF" in the Display menu, the ( ) icon will not appear. OFF (no subtitles) To set subtitle ON/OFF 1 PLAY 1.ENG/6 SUBTITLE T-SET 2 OFF Hint • If your language is not shown after pressing the AUDIO or SUBTITLE/TSET button several times, the disc may not have that language. However, some discs allow audio language or subtitle language setting on the disc menu. (Operation varies depending on the discs, so refer to the manual along with the disc.) • When "NOT AVAILABLE" appears on the TV screen, it means no subtitle is recorded on the scene. • If you choose a language that has a 3 letter language code, the code will be displayed every time you change the subtitle language setting. If you choose any other languages, '---' will be displayed instead. (Refer to page 27.) FRE (French audio) Hint • For DVD-RW (VR mode), Pressing the AUDIO button cycles the sound mode through MAIN, SUB, MAIN + SUB. • For DVD-RW (VR mode), the discs recorded in double sound (two languages ) can be played back in either sound mode of MAIN, SUB or MAIN + SUB. • The sound mode cannot be changed during playback of discs not recorded in double sound. • Audio language selection cannot be made during Rapid Play. (Refer to page 17.) • Pressing the AUDIO button may not work on some DVDs with multiple audio languages (e.g. DVDs which allow audio language setting on the disc menu). • With discs recorded in VR mode, changing the audio (MAIN, SUB or MAIN+SUB) is effective only when using an analogue connection. Although you may be able to change the settings of the on-screen display, it will not affect the sound when using a digital connection. DVD CD This unit allows you to select a sound mode during CD playback. 1 PLAY STEREO AUDIO Each time you press the AUDIO button; STEREO (right and left channels are active) L-CH (left channel is active) R-CH (right channel is active) Hint • If the Virtual Surround setting is "1'' or "2'', the sound mode will be fixed to STEREO, and cannot be changed. • Stereo sound mode will not be changed when playing DTS CD.
