Maintenance Maintenance Rotating the white roller After cleaning the scanning glass and rollers as explained in the preceding procedure, follow the steps below to make the machine rotate the white roller by half a turn, and then repeat the cleaning procedure. This will enable you to clean the side of the roller that was initially facing down. ♦ Do not perform this procedure when a document is loaded in the feeder. This may cause the top part of the document to be cut off when the document is faxed or copied. 1 Press FUNCTION once and 3 times. Display: OPTION SETTING 2 Press once and once. CLEAN ROLLER 3 Press once. 4 START/ Press . MEMORY • The white roller rotates half a turn. When rotation is finished, the machine will beep. Cleaning the housing Wipe the external parts and surface of the machine with a dry cloth. Caution! Do not use benzene or thinner. These solvents may damage or discolor the machine. About the lithium battery: The fax machine uses a lithium battery to retain settings and information programmed in the machine when the power is turned off. Battery power is consumed primarily when the power is off. With the power kept continuously off, the life of the battery is about 5 years. If the battery dies, have your dealer or retailer replace it. Do not try to replace it yourself. 107

Cleaning the housing
Wipe the external parts and surface of the machine with a dry cloth.
Caution!
Do not use benzene or thinner. These solvents may damage or discolor the
machine.
Rotating the white roller
After cleaning the scanning glass and rollers as explained in the preceding
procedure, follow the steps below to make the machine rotate the white roller
by half a turn, and then repeat the cleaning procedure. This will enable you to
clean the side of the roller that was initially facing down.
Do not perform this procedure when a document is loaded in the feeder.
This may cause the top part of the document to be cut off when the
document is faxed or copied.
