Symptom There is no sound from the surround speakers or surround back speakers. Problems and solutions Check the status of the S-AIR/STANDBY indicator on the surround amplifier. • Turns off. - Check that the AC power cord (mains lead) of the surround amplifier is connected securely. - Turn the surround amplifier on by pressing "/1 on the surround amplifier. • Flashes orange. - Check that the wireless transceiver is inserted into the surround amplifier correctly (page 27). • Flashes green quickly. - Set the SURROUND SELECTOR switch of the surround amplifier to SURROUND (page 29). - If there is no sound from the surround back speakers, set [Surround Back] in [Speaker Settings] to [Yes] (page 55). • Flashes red. - Press "/1 to turn off the surround amplifier, and check the following items. 1Are the + and - speaker cords short-circuited? 2Is anything blocking the ventilation holes of the surround amplifier? After checking the above items and fixing any problems, turn on the surround amplifier. If the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer. • Flashes green slowly or turns red. - Confirm the S-AIR IDs of the unit and S-AIR sub unit (page 47). - Confirm the pairing setting (page 49). - See "If wireless transmission is unstable" (page 50). - Sound transmission is poor. Use direct tuning. • You are attempting to play a disc with a format that cannot be played back by this system (page 76). • The region code on the BD/DVD does not match the system. • Moisture has condensed inside the unit and may cause damage to the lenses. Remove the disc and leave the unit turned on for about half an hour. • The system cannot play a recorded disc that is not correctly finalized (page 76). 72US
