TROUBLE CHECKS Many apparent malfunctions may be caused by slight misadjustments of the regular controls or some other equally simple cause. If any difficulty arises in the operation of your set, first check through this list of symptoms and corrections. Should the difficulty persist, unplug the set and contact your Sony dealer. SYMPTOM no picture (screen not lit), no sound CORRECTION • Plug the set into a working outlet. • Press the POWER switch on the TV or the Commander. • Before pressing the Hit button, connect equipment to the Hit connector. no picture (screen not lit), but good sound • Turn the BRIGHT or PICTURE control clockwise. good picture but no sound no picture, no sound, but snow and noise only • Press the + VOLUME button. • Release the sound muting by pressing the MUTING button. • Adjust the indoor antenna. • Connect the antenna properly. • Check the outdoor antenna. • Perform the channel presetting as described on page 12. • Release the Hit button. no color • Perform the channel presetting as described on page 12. herringbone pattern, stripes, no color, no ,, picture, too indistinct, etc. ' • Perform the channel preset ting as described on page 12. dotted lines or i•-•:;,-'AI:''Y'-- • stripes ...
