Protecting your hearing (AVLS) The AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) function keeps down the maximum volume to protect your ears. SELECT >/. MENU/ENTER 1 Press MENU/ENTER, press SELECT >/. repeatedly until "AVLS" flashes in the display, and then press MENU/ENTER again. 24 2 Press SELECT >/. repeatedly until "ON" flashes in the display, and then press MENU/ENTER. When you try to turn the volume too high, "AVLS" flashes in the display. The volume is kept to a moderate level. To cancel AVLS Select "OFF" in step 2. Checking the remaining time or the playing position You can check the track name, disc name, etc. during playback. SELECT >/. MENU/ENTER 1 While the recorder is playing, press MENU/ENTER, press SELECT >/. repeatedly until "DISP" flashes in the display, and then press MENU/ENTER again. 2 Press SELECT >/. repeatedly until the information you want flashes in the display. Each time you press SELECT ., the display changes as follows. LapTim (erapsed time) r 1 Rem (remaining time of the current track) r AllRem (remaining time after current location)
