Presetting the Active Channels in Your Area Your VCR is capable of receiving VHF channels 2 - 13, UHF channels 14 - 69 and cable TV channels A - 1 to A - 5, A - 8, A to W, W+1 to W+84. See cable TV channel chart on page 23. Before selecting or presetting TV channels • Turn on the VCR and the TV. • Make sure the TV is set to the correct channel (channel 3 or 4) for the VCR. Presetting All the Active Channels Automatically • a ' - 2453 CHANNEL +/- 1 Number button ENTER 00 C:1 0 0 0 0 0 = 0 0 0 00 00 00 00 4=1 3 CHANNEL +/TV SCAN 2 1 Set TV/VCR to VCR. 2 Press INPUT SELECT, if the A/V indicator lights in the display window. 3 Press ANT TV/VCR. The VCR indicator is displayed. 4 Select the tuner mode. When CATV indication lights in the display window: for cable-TV reception. When no indication lights in the display window: for off-the air reception using an antenna. 5 Press TUNER PRESET AUTO. The VCR automatically steps through all available channels and memorizes them. When all available channels are preset, the VCR is tuned to the lowest available channel. Selecting TV Channels There are three ways to select the channels. • Press the number buttons and then ENTER button on the Commander. For one digit channel number, first press O, then press the desired number. • Keep pressing CHANNEL +/- until the desired channel is tuned in. For lower-numbered channels, press "-", and for highernumbered channels, press "+": • Press the TV SCAN button on the Commander. The VCR starts scanning the memorized channels. Press the button again to stop when the desired channel is shown. 21
