Index Function - A desired program can be easily located by an index signal marked on the tape. How Index Signals are Marked An index signal is automatically marked on the tape when a recording starts. If the VCR is set to the recording-pause mode and then recording is resumed, no index signal will be marked. Locating a Desired Program - Index Search You can locate a desired program and play it back automatically by designating its index position. Up to the 99th index signal from the preset position on the tape can be located. To locate a program ahead, press IN4,- FF. The tape will be rewound or advanced rapidly and played back automatically. Every time an index signal is detected, the index number will decrease.
