English ► Insert the battery (2) into the battery compartment (3) until it stops. The battery is properly inserted when you hear a audible click and the battery is flush with the top of the battery housing. In this position, there is electrical contact between the battery and the lawn mower. ► If a spare battery is to be carried, insert the spare battery into the spare battery compartment (4). ► Close the battery compartment cover. Since a new battery is not fully charged, STIHL recommends that you fully charge the battery before using it the first time, @ 9.2. 14.2 Removing the Battery WARNING To reduce the risk of severe personal injury from unintended activation, always remove the fuse key and battery before assembling, transporting, adjusting, cleaning, servicing, maintaining or storing the lawn mower and any other time it is not in use. To remove the battery: ► Place the lawn mower on a level surface. ► Lift the battery compartment cover and hold it. 3 2 ► Press down on the locking lever (2) to eject the battery (3) from the battery compartment. ► Close the battery compartment cover. 26 0000-GXX-7748-A0 15 Switching the Lawn Mower On and Off NOTICE Avoid exposing the battery to excessive heat or prolonged periods of direct sunlight. Use or storage outside the recommended ambient temperature range can reduce the performance and/or service life of the battery. 15 Switching the Lawn Mower On and Off 15.1 Switching On WARNING To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries to the operator or bystanders, keep hands, feet and other parts of the body away from the mowing blade, @ 5.7.2. Do not touch the mowing blade while the fuse key or battery is inserted. WARNING Never operate your lawn mower if it is damaged, improperly adjusted or maintained, not completely and securely assembled or not functioning properly, @ 5.6. To reduce the risk of personal injury, always wear proper clothing and protective apparel, including proper eye protection, @ 5.5. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury from loss of control, always hold the lawn mower with both hands when you are working, @ 5.7.2. NOTICE To reduce the risk of thermal overload to the motor and damage to the mower, do not switch on the mower in high grass. Before switching on: ► Make sure you have a secure and firm footing. ► Stand upright. ► Always hold and operate the lawn mower with two hands. 0458-819-8621-A
