18 Setting up and using the port replicator Setting up the port replicator Your port replicator will come with either a 2-pin or a 3-pin plug, depending on where it was purchased. (Sample Illustration) Connecting the AC adaptor to the port replicator c Connect the power cord plug to a live electrical outlet. 6 Find the number (1 - 12) imprinted on the bottom of your computer next to the expansion port. This number indicates the extension setting to use for your computer model. 7 Extend the port replicator until the extension setting indicator (shown circled in red in the accompanying illustration) points to the appropriate number for your computer model. To extend the port replicator, squeeze the extension release and pull the extension out.
