113 Mobile Computing Changing batteries Removing the battery from the computer 1 Save your work. 2 Power off the computer or place it in Hibernation mode according to the instructions in "Using Hibernation" on page 99. 3 Remove all cables connected to the computer. 4 Close the display panel and turn the computer upside down. 5 If the battery release lock is in the locked position, slide it toward the unlocked position. Sample battery release lock 6 Press the battery release latch to release the battery. 7 Pull the discharged battery out of the computer. Sample removing the discharged battery
