104 Learning the Basics Using the optical disc drive 2 With the label facing up, carefully place the disc partially into the slot until the disc stops or the drive starts pulling the disc in. If the disc is dusty, clean it as described in "Caring for optical discs" on page 106. (Sample Illustration) Positioning the disc in the drive Use only standard (12 cm) CD or DVD Discs. Any other size or shape disc cannot be removed from this slot and may damage the system. Playing an audio CD Insert an audio CD. If the computer is turned on, the default player opens. ❖ To play the CD or to pause, click the Play/pause button. ❖ To stop the CD, click the Stop button. Before putting on headphones to listen, turn the volume down. Do not set the volume too high when using headphones. Continuous exposure to loud sound can harm your hearing.
