CAUTION • Locating the D2040 Do not place the unit in the locations listed below. To do so will subject the D2040 to conditions that may result in malfunction or damage. * Areas subject to high heat such as places near heating units• or areas subject to direct sunlight. * Areas subject to low temperatures. * Humid or dusty areas. * Areas subject to excessive vibration. • Mounting in Racks When mounting the D2040 in a rack with other equipment, do not locate the unit over other units that give off excessive heat such as power amps, etc. If the D2040 must be mounted together with high heat equipment, be sure to keep the unit separated from others by at least 1 U. The 1 U size reversevent Yamaha Ventilation panel unit VP1 is constructed for this purpose and is available from your Yamaha dealer. 1111 gri 000 4' (4 M 01 VP1 00001 0 ,r 000100f 000000WM0000 Mfl 00 e 0 . • Do Not Apply Stress to the Unit Take care not to place the unit under undue stress, especially the knobs and controls. • Power Be sure to use a power source intended for use in normal domestic applications to operate the unit. Do not use any other power source. * When turning on the power, be sure to turn on the switches in order beginning with the transmission unit. * When removing the power cord from the power outlet, to avoid damage to the power cord and subsequent short circuits, be sure to remove by pulling the plug and not the power cord. • If the D2040 unit is to be left unused for long periods of time, be sure to remove the power cord from its outlet. • When Changing the Location of the Unit When the unit is to be removed to a different location, be sure to remove all connecting cords to other devices as well as the power cord. Failure to do so may result in damage to the connecting cords and subsequent short circuits. • Do Not Open Casing To avoid damage and malfunction, do not open the casing of the unit or tamper with the inner workings of the D2040 in any way. • Cleaning the Unit Do not clean the unit with volatile thinners, benzine, etc., or aerosol type spray cleaners. When cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth on the exterior only. • Lightning If there is a possibility of lightning striking, be sure to cut the power to the unit. • Effects When Used with Other Electrical Devices The D2040 contains many digital circuits. When it is used near other electrical devices such as radios or TVs, it is possible that electric noise will effect the nearby device and static may occur. Therefore, be sure to locate the D2040 far enough from such devices so as to eliminate such effects. • Battery Replacement User programs and data set in the UTILITY mode is stored in a memory which is backed up with a battery that remains effective for about 5 years. When this battery wears out the data in the memory will be eliminated. The battery will need to be changed immediately if the warning message shown below is displayed when the power is turned on. However, because the data in the memory will be eliminated when the battery is changed, you will need to manually record the data in order to input it again after the battery has been changed. BE SURE TO RECORD THE DATA BEFORE CHANGING THE BATTERY.
