LEARN 2 Place this remote control about 5 to 10 cm apart from the other remote control on a flat surface so that their infrared transmitters are aimed at each other. If operation is not possible with any of the manufacturer codes, program the new remote control function with the Learn feature (see below) or use the remote control supplied with the component. • If you have already programmed a remote control function for a button, the function by learning programming takes priority over the setup manufacturer code's function. • "ERROR" appears in the display window when press any buttons other than indicated in each step, or when you press more than one button at once. Programming codes from other remote controls If you want to program functions not included in the basic operations covered by the manufacturer code, or an appropriate manufacturer code is not available, do the following. You can program any of the buttons available in the component control area (see page 59). The buttons can be programmed independently for each component. Note This remote control transmits infrared rays. If the other remote control also uses infrared rays, this remote control can learn most of its functions. However, you may not be able to program some special signals or extremely long transmissions. (Refer to the operation instructions for the other remote control.)
