4. Look through the transparent side of the fuse to see if the metal wire inside is separated. If it is, replace the fuse with one of the same amperage only. You can use the amp rating number on the fuse as well as the color to identify the correct replacement. RWARNING Always replace a fuse with one that has the specified amperage rating. Using a fuse with a higher amperage rating can cause severe wire damage and could start a fire. 5. 6. Reinstall the fuse puller on the inside of the fuse panel cover. Install the fuse panel cover. Even after you replace a fuse, it will continue to blow if you do not find what caused the overload. If the fuse continues to blow, have your electrical system checked.
