Brake Pedal FEATURES AND CONTROLS Push the brake pedal toward the floor to slow or stop the vehicle. Apply the brakes before turning the key on. Accelerator Pedal The accelerator pedal will function only when the key is ON and the direction selector switch is set to either forward or reverse. To begin moving or to increase vehicle speed, gradually push the accelerator pedal toward the floor. Holding the accelerator pedal down continuously will accelerate the vehicle to the maximum speed. To slow the vehicle, release the accelerator pedal. Electric motor braking provides braking when the pedal is released. For additional speed control or to stop the vehicle, apply the service brakes.
