MAINTENANCE Gearcases Main Gearcase (Transaxle) Oil Change The drain plug is located on the lower right side of the main gearcase, near the fill plug. Refer to the Gearcase Specifications Chart on page 59 for recommended lubricants, capacities and torque specifications. 1. Remove the fill plug. 2. Place a drain pan under the drain plug. 3. Remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely. 4. Wipe the magnetic end of the drain plug clean to remove accumulated metallic filings. 5. Reinstall the drain plug. Torque to specification. 6. Add the recommended oil as Drain Plug needed. Do not overfill. 7. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to specification. 8. Check for leaks. 9. Dispose of used oil properly. 60

Main Gearcase (Transaxle)
Oil Change
The drain plug is located on the lower right side of the main gearcase,
near the fill plug. Refer to the Gearcase Specifications Chart on page 59
for recommended lubricants, capacities and torque specifications.
1.
Remove the fill plug.
2.
Place a drain pan under the drain
plug.
3.
Remove the drain plug. Allow
the oil to drain completely.
4.
Wipe the magnetic end of the
drain plug clean to remove accu-
mulated metallic filings.
5.
Reinstall the drain plug. Torque
to specification.
6.
Add the recommended oil as
needed. Do not overfill.
7.
Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
specification.
8.
Check for leaks.
9.
Dispose of used oil properly.
