10 Replace the card assembly by aligning it with the connector and pressing it into place. Attach the PCI card assembly to the connector on the logic board by pushing it in sideways. Be sure to engage the card in this slot on the back panel. If the PCI card you are installing is full-length (12 inches), make sure it fits in one of these two card guides. The card guides snap forward and backward a short distance to help you position them on the cards. 11 Close the card retainer on the back panel and tighten its thumbscrew. Swing the small metal plate to its closed position, and tighten the thumbscrew. Warning If you removed a card from the server and did not install a replacement, be sure to place a port access cover over the empty slot in the back panel.
