Print-Server Installation in Mac OS 1 LPR technology allows Macintosh® computers to connect to multifunction printers (MFPs) via TCP/IP. LPR printing can be set up on any Macintosh with Mac OS v9.x and above. 2 MAC X v10.4.x To enable LPR Printing in Macintosh 10.4.x, please follow the 3 procedures below. 1. Open Print and Fax from the System Preferences. 4 2. With the Printing tab is selected, click the "Add" button. 3. When the Printer Browser opens, select "IP Printer". 5 4. In the "IP Printer" screen, please configure as below. Protocol: Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD as the Protocol. 6 IP Address: Set the address to the MFP Server's IP Address, for example: 192.168.2.253. 7 Queue: Set the queue name to lpt1. Name: You can designate a name for the printer. 8 Location: You can enter the location of the printer. Printer: Select the printer model that is 9 attached to the Print Server. 10 5.
