STRAIGHT AND ZIGZAG STITCHING Zigzag Stitching You can adjust the length of the Zigzag (Satin) Stitch using the buttonhole fine-adjusting screw. 1 Stitch Stitch Stitch Name Pattern Length Width [mm (inch.)] [mm (inch.)] Zigzag Stitch 1.5 (1/16) 3.0 (1/8) Zigzag Stitch 2.0 (1/16) 5.0 (3/16) Zigzag (Satin) Stitch 0.5 (1/32) 5.0 (3/16) ■ Zigzag Stitch Turn the pattern selection dial to zigzag stitch, and then start sewing. 1 Buttonhole fine adjusting screw 1 2 We recommend that you sew using the Straight Stitch at the beginning and end of the Zigzag Stitches. (This acts as a reinforcement stitch.) 1 For a longer stitch length, turn the buttonhole fine-adjusting screw with a large screwdriver in the + direction. 2 For a shorter stitch length, turn the buttonhole fine-adjusting screw with a large screwdriver in the - direction. ■ Zigzag (Satin) Stitch You can use the zigzag (satin) stitch for making decorative stitches. When sewing a zigzag (Satin) stitch, use a slightly looser upper-thread tension to produce more beautiful stitches. 34

Zigzag Stitching

Zigzag Stitch
Turn the pattern selection dial to zigzag stitch,
and then start sewing.
We recommend that you sew using the Straight
Stitch at the beginning and end of the Zigzag
Stitches.
(This acts as a reinforcement stitch.)

Zigzag (Satin) Stitch
You can use the zigzag (satin) stitch for making
decorative stitches.
When sewing a zigzag (Satin) stitch, use a slightly
looser upper-thread tension to produce more
beautiful stitches.
You can adjust the length of the Zigzag (Satin)
Stitch using the buttonhole fine-adjusting screw.
