PRINTER SETTINGS YES 10. ENLARGE A4 OFF ON 11. HALFTONES 1. TEXT RESOLUTION TONE GRADATION The print head moves to the beginning of the next line when line feed code is received. Sets whether to expand the printable area of A4 size paper to that of Letter size in width. * This setting is applicable for A4 paper and portrait orientation for the PCL5 printing only. The PCL6 printing is not supported. All the area on a page 1/8" (4.23 mm) from the top, bottom, left, and right edges is available for printing on A4 paper. All the area on a page 1/8" (4.23 mm) from the top and bottom edges and 1/8" (3.30 mm) from the left and right edges is available for printing on A4 paper. Only the width increases. Specifies the display pattern of subtle gradation (medium gradation) for black-and-white data for each text part, graphics part and image part. Enables this function to text parts. Prints precisely so that the lines of text data appear clearly. This setting is appropriate for printing data that contains text or thin lines. Prints with a stable texture and distinct gradation, by enhancing the contrast of tone. This setting is appropriate for printing image data such as photographic images. Prints with a smooth gradation and fine outline quality combined. This setting is appropriate for printing diagrams or graphs in which gradation is used. Machine Settings 12-28

PRINTER SETTINGS
YES
The pr±nt head moves to the beg±nn±ng of the next l±ne when
l±ne feed code ±s rece±ved.
10. ENLARGE A4
Sets whether to expand the pr±ntable area of A4 s±ze paper to
that of Letter s±ze ±n w±dth.
* Th±s sett±ng ±s appl±cable for A4 paper and portra±t or±entat±on for the
PCL5 pr±nt±ng only. The PCL6 pr±nt±ng ±s not supported.
OFF
All the area on a page 1/8" (4.23 mm) from the top, bottom, left,
and r±ght edges ±s ava±lable for pr±nt±ng on A4 paper.
ON

edges and 1/8" (3.30 mm) from the left and r±ght edges ±s
ava±lable for pr±nt±ng on A4 paper. Only the w±dth ±ncreases.
11. HALFTONES
Spec±f±es the d±splay pattern of subtle gradat±on (med±um
gradat±on) for black-and-wh±te data for each text part, graph±cs
part and ±mage part.
1.
TEXT
Enables th±s funct±on to text parts.
RESOLUTION
Pr±nts prec±sely so that the l±nes of text data appear clearly. Th±s
sett±ng ±s appropr±ate for pr±nt±ng data that conta±ns text or th±n
l±nes.
TONE
Pr±nts w±th a stable texture and d±st±nct gradat±on, by enhanc±ng
the contrast of tone. Th±s sett±ng ±s appropr±ate for pr±nt±ng
±mage data such as photograph±c ±mages.
GRADATION
Pr±nts w±th a smooth gradat±on and f±ne outl±ne qual±ty
comb±ned. Th±s sett±ng ±s appropr±ate for pr±nt±ng d±agrams or
graphs ±n wh±ch gradat±on ±s used.
