(Flash Off) Flash will not fire Red-Eye Reduction The red-eye phenomenon is caused by light reflecting back from eyes photographed in dark areas with a flash. It can be prevented by recording in the redeye reduction mode. The mode reduces the red-eye appearance by lighting an incandescent lamp when the shutter button is pressed halfway.
