When mirroring mode is enabled, usable memory capacity is half of the physical memory installed. 6.4 Sparing Intel has added sparing back with Xeon processor 5600 series. In sparing mode, you must have identical memory in Channel_0, Channel_1 and Channel_2. For the R510, memories are installed in A1, A2 and A3 to enable the sparing mode.
