You can perform text recognition when scanning documents. Doing so can make a searchable
PDF file (OCRs during scan).
Operation
1.
Right-click the ScanSnap icon
, and select "Settings."
2.
Click the [File Option] tab, and then select "PDF" from the "File format" drop-down list.

Mark the checkbox in order to "Searchable PDF (OCRs during scan)."
