Additional Options for Creating Waypoints Waypoints can also be created by manually entering position coordinates through the Find feature of the Main Menu. This method can be useful for creating a waypoint at a specific latitude/longitude position from a chart. You can also manually change the location coordinates in the New Waypoint Page to create a new waypoint. To create a waypoint through the Main Menu: 1. Press MENU twice to show the Main Menu. 2. Use the ROCKER to highlight the Find icon on the page, and press ENTER to show the Find Menu. 3. Open a Find category and select an item from the list, then press ENTER to show the information page and then select SAVE. To change any information on the New Waypoint Page, highlight the appropriate field, and press ENTER. After entering and confirming your changes, press QUIT. Basic Operation > To create a new waypoint by entering location coordinates: 1. Create a waypoint using your favorite method (discussed in previous sections). The new waypoint is created with the next available waypoint number and the receiver's last known position as the default name and position. 2. Use the ROCKER to highlight the Location field, and press ENTER. Use the ROCKER to enter the position coordinates, and press QUIT when finished. To change any of the other information on the New Waypoint Page, highlight the appropriate field, and press ENTER. After entering and confirming your changes, press QUIT. 96/96C Owner's Manual 33
