New features include the following: • New 8Gbps Performance Fibre Channel Module Support, page 34 • Call Home Delayed Traps Feature, page 35 • Smart Call Home Enhancement, page 35 • SANTap Enhancements, page 35 • IPv6 Support, page 36 • NPV Traffic Management, page 36 • CFS Distribution Using Static List, page 36 • Cisco Data Mobility Manager Enhancements, page 37 • Cisco Storage Media Encryption Enhancements, page 37 • Switch Interoperability with Brocade 5.x and McData 9.07, page 37 New 8Gbps Performance Fibre Channel Module Support Cisco MDS 9000 NX-OS Release 4.1(1b) supports the following new switch hardware platforms and modules: • 48-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel Switching Module, page 34 • 24-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel Switching Module, page 35 • 4/44-port 8-Gbps Host-Optimized Fibre Channel Switching Module, page 35 48-port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel Switching Module The 48-Port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel switching module offers 48 autosensing 1-, 2-, 4- and 8-Gbps Fibre Channel ports and can be used in the Cisco MDS 9500 Series Switches. The 48-port switching module can be configured in one of two operational modes: shared bandwidth mode (default) and dedicated bandwidth mode. A Device Manager GUI command automatically configures specific ports to dedicated bandwidth mode to achieve the per port bandwidth requirements; the remaining ports are configured in shared mode.
