Reverse this procedure to install the audio/infrared board. USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 486798-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 52). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 62). b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 55). c. Switch cover and keyboard (see Switch cover and keyboard on page 69). d. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 74). e. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 76). f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 84). Remove the USB board: 1. Disconnect the USB board cable (1) from the LIF connector on the system board. 2. Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

).
5.
Remove the following components:
a.

b.

).
c.

Remove the USB board:
1.
Disconnect the USB board cable
(1)
from the LIF connector on the system board.
2.
Remove the Phillips PM2.5×7.0 screw
(2)
that secures the USB board to the base enclosure.
