The 5300xl switch software must be updated to version E.10.30 or later. The ProCurve Wireless Edge Services xl Module (J9001A) and the ProCurve Redundant Wireless Services xl Module (J9003A) must be running software version WS.01.03 or later. The term 'module' is used in this section to refer to both the ProCurve Wireless Edge Services xl Module (J9001A) and the ProCurve Redundant Wireless Services xl Module (J9003A). There are four module configuration tasks required: ■ configuring an IP address for the module ■ configuring VLANs on the 5300xl switch ■ determining a module configuration backup process ■ configuring wireless LAN services Configuring an IP Address for the Module By default, the module uses DHCP to get an IP address. The 5300xl switch CLI has a command context, the wireless services context (accessed from the CLI's config context), for configuring and managing a module. 'ProCurve' is used here as a generic prompt for all 5300xl switches. To show the module's IP address, first enter the CLI config context on the 5300xl switch, then enter the following command to access the module's wireless services CLI context for the module: ProCurve (config)# wireless-services where is the slot in the 5300xl where the module is installed. Configuring the ProCurve Wireless Edge
Services xl Modules (J9001A, J9003A)
Before beginning the configuration, backup the current configuration of the
switch. The 5300xl switch software must be updated to version E.10.30 or
later. The ProCurve Wireless Edge Services xl Module (J9001A) and the
ProCurve Redundant Wireless Services xl Module (J9003A) must be running
software version WS.01.03 or later.

Configuring an IP Address for the Module
By default, the module uses DHCP to get an IP address. The 5300xl switch CLI
has a command context, the wireless services context (accessed from the
CLI’s config context), for configuring and managing a module.

‘ProCurve’ is used here as a generic prompt for all 5300xl switches.
To show the module’s IP address, first enter the CLI config context on the
5300xl switch, then enter the following command to access the module’s
wireless services CLI context for the module:
ProCurve (config)# wireless-services
<slot-id>
where
<slot-id>
is the slot in the 5300xl where the module is installed.
To display the module’s IP address, enter:
ProCurve (wireless-services-id)# show ip interfaces
