Installing TeemTalk On UNIX Based Products
Troubleshooting
This section describes what you should do if you encounter any of the following error
messages during the installation process.
Command not found

(or similar)
As it suggests the conversion program cannot be found, reasons may be:
The file search path does not include the directory in which the conversion
program exists. Possibly because the installation is not being performed with
the X Window system running.
The conversion program has been deleted or not installed. We can’t help you
with this apart from offer our sympathies.
The wrong workstation configuration was selected when loading the tape and
consequently the installation script (and also the
TeemTalk executable) are
incorrect for the type of
X server running.
The
xset
command cannot be found. It is either not in the file search path (try
using a normal user shell) or is installed elsewhere (typically this is the case
on IBM RS6000’s).
Odd number of characters in

Some newer versions of the conversion utilities are less forgiving about the
format of the
.bdf
files and reports the foregoing error. So far the fonts that
we have seen to been affected by this are the very small fonts which can in
most configurations be ignored.
Moving the compiled font files. Having compiled the font files into one of the
.snf
,
.pcf
or
.fb
formats, the files are moved to a font directory which the X
Server knows about so that when a request is made to load the font the X
Server knows where to load the font from. On some TeemTalk installation
scripts this process is performed as an indivisible part of the conversion
process.
Motif Servers:
The destination directory is

there are some variants, specifically the IBM RS6000.
OpenWindows:
The destination directory is
$OPENWINHOME/lib/fonts
