Before disassembling the computer, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. Remove the keyboard/top cover: 1. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface. 2. Position the computer with the front toward you. 3. Remove the rear rubber foot strip (1). The rubber foot strip is available using spare part numbers 925200-001 (in pike silver finish) and 925377-001 (in shimmer mint finish). 4. Remove the three Phillips PM2.5×5.7 screws (2) and the three Phillips PM2.0×4.9 screws (3) that secure the keyboard/top cover to the base enclosure. 5. Turn the computer right side up. 6. Open the computer and position it on its' left side with the bottom toward you. 7.
