Reverse this procedure to install the power connector cable. Display assembly NOTE: The display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level. For display assembly spare part information, see the individual removal subsections. Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 27), and then remove the following components: a. Battery (see Battery on page 34) b. Speakers (see Speakers on page 38) c. System board (see System board on page 42) Remove the display assembly: 1. Remove the six Phillips PM2.5×5.7 screws (1) that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure. 2. Remove the display assembly (2). 3. If it is necessary to replace the display panel assembly or any of the display assembly subcomponents: NOTE: The display panel assembly can be removed and replaced without removing the display assembly from the base enclosure. Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:

Remove the display assembly:
1.
Remove the six Phillips PM2.5×5.7 screws

that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure.

Remove the display assembly

If it is necessary to replace the display panel assembly or any of the display assembly subcomponents:

The display panel assembly can be removed and replaced without removing the display assembly
from the base enclosure.
