1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. Remove the keyboard/top cover: 1. Close the computer. 2. Turn the computer upside down with the front toward you. 3. Remove the following: (1) Three rubber screw covers on the front edge of the computer (2) One rubber plug on the right side of the computer (3) One flat screw cover in the middle of the computer (4) One rubber foot strip These components are included in the Rubber Kits, using the following spare part numbers: 856105-001 - Rubber Kit in dragonfly blue finish 856103-001 - Rubber Kit in modern gold finish 856102-001 - Rubber Kit in natural silver finish 4.
