8 CONNECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE n Optional MB-69 installation An optional MB-69 flush mount is available for mounting the transceiver to a flat surface, such as an instrument panel. KEEP the transceiver and microphone at least 1 meter (3.3 feet) away from your vessel's magnetic navigation compass. q Using the template on page 55, carefully cut a hole into the instrument panel (or wherever you plan to mount the transceiver.) w Slide the transceiver through the hole as shown below. 1 2 e Attach the clamps on either side of the transceiver with two supplied bolts (5 × 8 mm). 3 • Make sure that the clamps align parallel to the transceiver body. 4 5 6 7 8 9 r Tighten the end bolts on the clamps (rotate clockwise) so 10 that the clamps press firmly against the inside of the in- strument control panel. 11 t Tighten the locking nuts (rotate counterclockwise) so that the transceiver is securely mounted in position, as shown 12 below. 13 y Connect the antenna and power cable, then return the instrument control panel to its original place. 14 15 16 t r 51
