Because the hard disk will be formatted when the hard disk encryption setting is specified, the data saved on the hard disk will be deleted. Therefore, we recommend that you finish an HDD encryption setting before using this machine. To configure settings: [Utility] - [Administrator Settings] - [Security Settings] - [Storage Management Settings] - [HDD Encryption Setting] Related setting (for the administrator) - When enabling the enhanced security mode to use this machine, you need to configure an HDD en- cryption setting. For details on the enhanced security mode, refer to [Descriptions of Functions/Utility Keys] in the User's Guide CD. 5.3.2 Configuring [Quick Security Setting] [Quick Security Setting] provides a collection of settings to enhance security performance of this machine. In order to use this machine securely, we recommend that you change the administrator password to one that complies with the password rules and specify the settings for [Quick Security Setting] in advance. By default, the security warning screen is displayed if the administrator password remains set to the default or the password rules are not satisfied. Tap [Quick Security] on the main menu to display the [Quick Security Setting] screen. For details on the settings, refer to [Descriptions of Functions/Utility Keys] in the User's Guide CD. Related setting (for the administrator) - In some areas, [Quick Security] is located on the main menu by default. However, if [Administrator Pass- word] in [Quick Security Setting] screen was changed from the default setting and [Password Rules] is set to [Enable], the [Quick Security] will not be displayed on the main menu. To display the key again, specify the setting in the following location. 5.3.1
Hard Disk setting
To encrypt the data saved on the hard disk of this machine to protect it, specify the hard disk encryption set-
ting.
Because the hard disk will be formatted when the hard disk encryption setting is specified, the data saved
on the hard disk will be deleted. Therefore, we recommend that you finish an HDD encryption setting before
using this machine.
