Understanding MFP messages Message Meaning Action 56 USB port [x] disabled The MFP receives data through a specified USB port, but this USB port is disabled. x is the number of the USB port. Touch Continue. The MFP discards any data received through the specified USB port. Make sure the USB Buffer menu item is not set to Disabled. Touch Reset Active Bin to change to another linked bin. 57 Configuration change, some held jobs were not restored This message appears once after the firmware tries to restore all of the jobs on the hard disk regardless of the number of held jobs that were not restored. Configuration of the MFP may have changed due to: • print media option(s) removal, such as a tray or bin being removed • the hard disk was installed from a different MFP model • the speed of the MFP Touch Continue. Some held jobs are not restored. They stay on the hard disk and are inaccessible. 58 Too many flash options installed The MFP detects an excess of Touch Continue to clear the message and optional flash memory cards installed. ignore the extra optional flash memory cards. The message occurs again unless the excess optional flash memory cards are removed. 1 Turn the MFP off. 2 Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 3 Remove the excess flash memory. 4 Connect the power cord to a properly grounded outlet. 5 Turn the MFP on. 58 Too many trays attached The MFP detects that too many optional drawers and their matching trays are installed. 1 Turn the MFP off. 2 Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 3 Remove the additional drawers. 4 Connect the power cord to a properly grounded outlet. 5 Turn the MFP on. 59 Incompatible duplex An unsupported optional duplex unit is attached to the MFP. Remove the optional duplex unit. The MFP ceases normal functions until the optional duplex unit is removed. Touch Continue to clear the message once the optional duplex unit is removed. 59 Incompatible envelope An unsupported optional envelope feeder feeder is attached to the MFP. Remove the optional envelope feeder. The MFP ceases normal functions until the optional envelope feeder is removed. Touch Continue to clear the message once the optional envelope feeder is removed. 59 Incompatible output An unsupported output bin is bin [x] attached. Remove the output bin, and then touch Continue. Note: Printer operations cease until the message is cleared. The only way to clear the message is to remove the bin. Attendance messages 116
