1 Introduction 1.1 About This Guide Thank you for purchasing the Lexmark Card for IPDS. This card provides emulation support for the Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) on your printer. With the appropriate adapter and host software, your printer becomes an IBM host workstation printer capable of printing AFP or IPDS documents from an AS/400, iSeries, System/370, System/390, or zSeries. This guide contains information to assist you in understanding the Lexmark IPDS menu settings and Lexmark IPDS function support. If you need information on configuring host and printer settings to prepare the printer to receive IPDS jobs, refer to the separate document, IPDS Printer and Host Setup Guide. Information on how to install the card is in a separate document shipped with your printer. Refer to the documentation shipped with your printer for information on how to install the optional firmware cards.
