Advanced BIOS Features BIOS Setup Quick Booting Setting the item to [Enabled] allows the system to boot within 5 seconds since it will skip some check items. Setting options: [Enabled], [Disabled]. CPU Feature Press to for the sub-menu of each item: Limit CPUID MaxVal: The item allows you to enable/ disable the CPU ID maximum value. [Enabled] Set to [Enabled] only when you have Prescott CPU and NT4.0 operating system. [Disabled] Set to [Disabled] if you have operating system other than NT4.0. Boot to OS/2 This allows you to run the OS/2® operating system with DRAM larger than 64MB. When you choose [No], you cannot run the OS/2® operating system with DRAM larger than 64MB. But it is possible if you choose [Yes]. Full Screen LOGO Show This item enables you to show the company logo on the bootup screen. Settings are: [Enabled] Shows a still image (logo) on the full screen at boot. [Disabled] Shows the POST messages at boot. Hyper-Threading Function The processor uses Hyper-Threading technology to increase transaction rates and reduces end-user response times. The technology treats the two cores inside the processor as two logical processors that can execute instructions simultaneously. In this way, the system performance is highly improved. If you disable the function, the processor will use only one core to execute the instructions. Setting options: [Enabled], [Disabled]. 3-7
