Shooting Suited for the Scenes Shooting in Scene Mode h Sunset O Preserves the deep hues seen in sunsets and sunrises. • The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame. X W* n Off* p Off o 0.0* * Other settings can be selected. i Dusk/dawn OQ Preserves the colors seen in the weak natural light before sunrise or after sunset. • Camera focuses at infinity. When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus area or focus indicator (A6) always lights green; however, focus may not be set for near subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity. • Motion detection (A132) is disabled. • AF-assist illuminator does not light regardless of the AF assist (A133) setting. X W* n Off* p Off o 0.0* * Other settings can be selected. j Night landscape OQ Use this mode to capture night landscapes. Slow shutter speeds are used to produce stunning night landscapes. • Camera focuses at infinity. When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus area or focus indicator (A6) always lights green; however, focus may not be set for near subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity. • Motion detection (A132) is disabled. • AF-assist illuminator does not light regardless of the AF assist (A133) setting. X W n Off* p Off o 0.0* * Other settings can be selected. O: For scene modes with O, use of a tripod is recommended. Turn Vibration reduction (A131) to Off when using a tripod. Q: Pictures shot in scene modes utilizing Q may be processed automatically to reduce noise and therefore take a longer time to record. 38
