Menu functions On the top of the display you can see the message length indicator counting backwards from 160. For example, 10/2 means that you can still add 10 characters for the text to be sent as two messages. Write and send SMS messages 1. Select Menu > Messages > Create message > Text message. 2. Write the message. See Write text on page 25. You can insert text templates or a picture into the message. See Templates on page 33. Each picture message comprises several text messages. Sending one picture or multipart message may cost more than sending one text message. 3. To send the message, select Send, or press the call key. 4. Enter the recipient's phone number. To retrieve a phone number from Contacts, select Search > the desired contact > OK. Sending options After you have written a message, select Options > Sending options and one of the following options: • Send to many to send a message to several recipients. The message is sent separately to each recipient, which may cost more than sending one message. • Send as e-mail to send a message as SMS e-mail. Enter the recipient's e-mail address, or search for it in Contacts, and select OK. • Sending profile to send a message using a predefined message profile, and select a message profile. To define a message profile, see Text message and SMS e-mail message settings on page 48. Read and reply to an SMS message or an SMS e-mail is shown when you have received a message or an e-mail using SMS. The blinking indicates that the message memory is full. Before you can receive new messages, delete some of your old messages in the Inbox folder. 1. To view a new message, select Show, or to view it later, select Exit. 32

Write and send SMS messages

messages. Sending one picture or multipart message may cost more
than sending one text message.

After you have written a message, select

and
one of the following options:
Send to many
to send a message to several recipients. The message is

one message.
Send as e-mail
to send a message as SMS e-mail. Enter the
recipient’s e-mail address, or search for it in
Contacts
, and select
OK
.
Sending profile
to send a message using a predefined message
profile, and select a message profile.

message settings on page 48.
Read and reply to an SMS message or an SMS e-mail
is shown when you have received a message or an e-mail using
SMS. The blinking
indicates that the message memory is full. Before
you can receive new messages, delete some of your old messages in the
Inbox
folder.
