Operations When a function does not work, check here before requesting help! General Problem I cannot make and receive calls. I cannot make calls. The unit does not work. The unit does not ring. The other party complains they only hear a fax tone and cannot talk. The REDIAL/PAUSE button does not function properly. The receive mode does not function properly. During programming, I cannot enter the code or ID number. The unit beeps. Cause & solution qThe power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections (p. 16). qIf you used a splitter to connect the unit, remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter. qThe dialing mode setting is wrong. Change the setting of feature #13 (p. 54). qDisconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company. qThe ringer volume is set to off. Adjust it (p. 21). qFAX ONLY mode is set. Tell the other party the number is only used for faxes. qChange to TEL mode (p. 42) or TEL/FAX mode (p. 46). qIf this button is pressed during dialing, a pause will be inserted. If pressed immediately after a dial tone is obtained, the last number dialed will be redialed. qA Distinctive Ring pattern of feature #31 is set (p. 56). qTEL/FAX mode is set (p. 46, 47). qAll or part of the numbers are the same.
