Useful Information Problem The message indicator on the handset flashes slowly. When you play back messages or turn on the answering system, the base unit and handset announce the day and time incorrectly. Cause & solution L New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new messages (page 59) or turn the message alert off (page 65). L Set the date and time again (page 20). Battery recharge Problem "Recharge battery" is displayed, 3 flashes or the handset beeps intermittently. "Charge for 6 HRS" and 4 are displayed and the handset does not work. I charged the battery fully, but "Recharge battery" is still displayed and/or 3 continues to flash, or "Charge for 6 HRS" and 4 are displayed. The CHARGE indicator does not go out after the battery has been charged. The handset display is blank. Cause & solution L Fully charge the battery (page 13). L The battery has been discharged. Fully charge the battery (page 13). L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 13). L The battery may need to be replaced (page 14). If you install a new battery, fully charge it (page 13). L This is normal. L Confirm that the battery is properly installed. L Fully charge the battery (page 13). Power failure Problem The unit will not function. Cause & solution L This product is not designed to make calls in the event of a power failure.
