Preparation Using the navigator keys The navigator keys can be used to navigate through menus and to select items shown on the display by pressing: Base unit: {^}, {V}, {7}, or {8} Handset: {^}, {V}, {} To adjust the receiver or speaker volume, press {^} to increase the volume, or press {V} to decrease the volume repeatedly while talking. Base unit Handset {^} {^} {7} {8} {} {V} {V} Soft keys Each unit features 3 soft keys. By pressing a soft key, you can select the feature shown directly above it on the display. Base unit Handset Display/Indicators Base unit display items Item W X L1 L2 3 PRIV. Meaning Indicates the selected line(s) for answering system operations and settings. Ringer volume (page 29) is off.*1 Night mode is on (page 31). Call privacy mode is on (page 21). *1 Corresponding line number(s) is indicated next to the item. Handset display items Item 1 w c d L1 L2 s 3 E m PRIV. Meaning Battery level Within range of the base unit L When flashing: Handset is searching for the base unit (page 48). The line is in use. L When flashing: - the call is put on hold on that line. - the answering system is answering a call on that line. L When flashing rapidly: an incoming call is now being received on that line. Ringer volume (page 29) is off.*1 Speaker is on (page 18). Night mode is on (page 31). Alarm is on (page 31).
