Useful Information Troubleshooting If you still have difficulties after following the instructions in this section, disconnect the base unit's AC adaptor, then reconnect the base unit's AC adaptor. Remove the batteries from the handset, and then insert the batteries into the handset again. General use Problem The unit does not work. I cannot hear a dial tone. w is flashing. Cause/solution L Make sure the batteries are installed correctly (page 15). L Fully charge the batteries (page 15). L Check the connections (page 12). L Unplug the base unit's AC adaptor to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor and try again. L The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 32). L The base unit's AC adaptor or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the connections. L If you are using a splitter to connect the unit, remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly, check the splitter. L Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your service provider/telephone company. L The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register the handset (page 32). L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. L The base unit's AC adaptor is not connected. Check the connections. L You are using the base unit or handset in an area with high electrical interference. Re-position the base unit and use the handset away from interference sources. Programmable settings Problem I have changed the display language to a language I cannot read. While programming, the unit starts to ring. I cannot register a handset to a base unit. Cause/solution L Change the display language (page 16). L A call is being received. Answer the call and start again after hanging up. L The maximum number of handsets (6) is already registered to the base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the base unit (page 32).
