Adjust speaker output to balance front speaker sounds with those from each of the other speakers in the seating area. Make adjustment after detecting speakers automatically (á page 10). Operations Remote controlling sound effects/convenient functions Press [SPEAKERS A] on the unit to switch " A " on. (Press [SPEAKERS A] or [SPEAKERS B] to switch " A B " on when bi-wire speakers are connected.) Note If you select "SPEAKERS B" only, the test signal will not be output. L C R RS SBR SBL LS SW L C R RS SB LS SW (When you connect one surround back speaker) • Speakers not connected (á pages 9, 10, 24 and 25) or set as unconnected in "Setting speakers and their sizes" (á page 35) do not output test signals. Speaker VOLUME 2 Press to adjust the volumes of front speakers to the normal listening level. LEVEL 3 Press to select a speaker for adjustment. • Speakers switch in the following order each time you press the button. C RS SBR SBL LS SUBW Volume range: - - dB (minimum), -79dB to 0dB (maximum) Speaker C RS SB LS SUBW (When you connect one surround back speaker) 4 Press to adjust the volume of the selected speaker. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to adjust the level of each speaker. • Only the adjusted speaker produces the test signal in steps 3 and 4. • Connected speakers start producing the test signal again in the above order 2 seconds after both steps. • Press [TEST, -AUTO] to stop the test signal. Adjustment range: -20dB to +10dB Factory setting: 0dB SUBW only: MIN (minimum) ↔ 1 to 29 ↔ MAX (maximum) Factory setting: 20 You can adjust the output level while playing sources. You can adjust the level according to your preference by thickening or thinning the ultra bass, for example. Adjusting the subwoofer level SUBWOOFER Press to select a level. • Select "--- " to stop output. Adjustment range: --- (off), MIN (minimum), 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, MAX (maximum) Factory setting: SUBW 20 Silencing speakers temporarily Dimming the display light (Dimmer) Note • Sound can be distorted if you raise the volume while the subwoofer level is high. Reduce the subwoofer level if this occurs. • Adjust the output level by taking steps described in "Adjusting speaker volumes" (above) when you wish to make detailed settings. Press MUTING • "MUTING IS ON " scrolls across the display while the volume is muted. • Press the button again to cancel the operation. Note Muting is canceled when you turn the unit off or adjust the volume. Press DIMMER • Press the button to dim the display. The light above [INPUT SELECTOR] and [VOLUME] goes off. • Press the button again to cancel the operation. Note Refer to page 33 for adjusting the brightness on the unit. 31 RQT8739
