Setting the auto power off function Turning on/off the screen backlight If you specify a time for this function, when the unit is not used for the specified time, the power turns off automatically (excluding pause during recording and VAS recording, as well as playback). This function helps you save battery when you forget to turn off the power. Use this function to specify how long the screen backlight stays on after you press a button. 1 Turn on the power, and press the MENU/PLAY LIST button. 1 Turn on the power, and press the MENU/PLAY LIST button. 2 Press the VOL (+/-) button to select "COMMON MENU", and then press the /OK button. 3 Press the VOL (+/-) button to select the "AUTO POWER OFF" setting, and then press the /OK button. 4 Press the / button to select a time for the auto power off function to activate, and then press the /OK button.
