Mic mixing with playback and recording When the input source is USB, LINE or TAPE, you can mix sound from a mic connected to this unit during playback and recording. You can also monitor or record only the sound from the mic. Connect an amplifier to this unit, and use it to check the mic sound. Connecting a mic Use a mono dynamic mic. This unit does not support mics that require power to be supplied or stereo mics. Mic mixing with recording This unit can record to a cassette tape and USB flash drive. Connect the mic plug to the MIC connector on the front of the unit, and follow the recording procedures (pages 28 and 31) to record. In the "Adjust the recording level" step of the recording procedures, adjust both the source and mic levels as follows. 1 Adjust the source level. Example of display during USB recording Connect the mic plug to the MIC connector on the front of the unit. oo Set the MIC LEVEL knob to MIN before connecting a mic and when not using a mic. oo Sound from the mic will start being output about five seconds after the unit is turned on. Play the source back and adjust the REC LEVEL knob so that the level is slightly low. 2 Adjust the mic level. Mic mixing with playback While inputting sound with the mic, turn the MIC LEVEL knob to adjust the level. oo The volume is at its lowest level at MIN and highest at MAX. oo You can mix and output the mic sound with playback from any source (CD, USB, TAPE or LINE). While inputting sound with the mic, turn the MIC LEVEL knob to adjust the balance between the source and mic sounds. 34

When the input source is USB, LINE or TAPE, you can mix sound from a
mic connected to this unit during playback and recording.
You can also monitor or record only the sound from the mic.
Connect an amplifier to this unit, and use it to check the mic sound.
Connecting a mic
Use a mono dynamic mic.
This unit does not support mics that require power to be sup-
plied or stereo mics.
Connect the mic plug to the MIC connector on the front of the unit.

Set the MIC LEVEL knob to MIN before connecting a mic and when
not using a mic.
o
Sound from the mic will start being output about five seconds
after the unit is turned on.

adjust the level.
