Printer driver installation 1. Install the printer drivers for your printer. Within CD Navigator, select Printer Drivers, and then select Install Xerox Phaser 5400 Laser Printer Drivers. Note The Xerox TCP/IP Port Monitor has not been installed yet. It is necessary to temporarily install the printer drivers to an alternate port. A local port, such as LPT1, is recommended. 2. Run the TCP/IP Port Monitor Setup program located on your printer's CD-ROM: a. Click Start and Run. b. In the Run window, type: :\instal\utility\Tcp Ip Port Monitor\Windows 2000\\setup.exe. 3. In the first dialog box, select Install/Upgrade Port Monitor and click OK. Port monitor installation 1. The installation process automatically copies the files to the system directory. When this process has been completed, a dialog box appears that reads: The Xerox TCP/IP Port was successfully installed. To add or remove ports, select the ports tab in your printer properties. 2. Click OK. Adding a port 1. To add a TCP/IP port, open the Printer Properties dialog box for the printer you would like to attach the new TCP/IP port. a. Click Start, scroll to Settings, and click Printers. b. Click your right-mouse button on the printer to which you want to attach the new TCP/IP port, and select Properties. 2. Select the Ports tab, and click the Add Ports button. 3. Printer driver installation
1.
Install the printer drivers for your printer. Within CD Navigator,
select
Printer Drivers
, and then select
Install Xerox Phaser 5400
Laser Printer Drivers
.
Note

printer’s CD-ROM:

In the first dialog box, select

Port monitor installation
1.

Adding a port
1.
To add a TCP/IP port, open the
Printer Properties
dialog box for
the printer you would like to attach the new TCP/IP port.

Click

Click your right-mouse button on the printer to which you
want to attach the new TCP/IP port, and select
Properties
.

Select the
Ports
tab, and click the
Add Ports
button.

New Port
button.
