Recording with automatic switch-off (OTR One-Touch Recording) This is due to the initial 20 seconds of spin time required for the Disc to ready itself for operation. Also, it is normal for networks to begin the broadcast of programs about one minute prior to the announced time.This is done to possibly catch the viewer's attention as they channel scan or surf through available channel selections. Timer programming with the VCR Plus+® system 1 Insert a recordable DVD+RW or DVD+R disc. 2 Normally, the DVD Recorder displays the contents of the disc on the screen to see the currently selected TV channel. 3 Use CHANNEL 3 or CHANNEL 4 (on the Recorder) or CH+, CH- (on the remote control) to select the channel you wish to record. 4 Press REC twice. ➤ A 30 minute recording will be made. ➤ The end time of the recording shows briefly in the timer box on the TV screen.The remaining recording time shows on the 10:15 pm display. 5 To increase the recording time in 30-minute incre- ments, press REC repeatedly. 6 Shortly after pressing REC, an OTR can be cancelled by pressing CLEAR. Timer programming The DVD Recorder needs the following information for every programmed recording: - the date on which the recording is to be made; - the channel; - the start and stop time of the recording; - the recording mode The DVD Recorder stores all the information mentioned above in a timer block.You can program up to six timer blocks, one year in advance. When you have programmed the timer, a red line on the disc bar (both on the display and on the Index Picture Screen) indicate what part of the disc will be overwritten by the programmed recording from the current disc position. When all timer blocks are full, timer programming and VCR Plus+ system cannot be accessed. For clearing a timer block, see 'Cleaning a Timer block.' When using timer recording.
